The causes of current climate change on a local and global scale.

Methane

•  Find a picture of a farting cow, and explain how this effects on the atmosphere

• What is Methane?

• What is permafrost?

 Carbon Dioxide

Go to Page 33 in your blue textbook, look at fig.4 and describe rate of increase of carbon dioxide levels

Do rich people produce more greenhouse gases?

  4. Carbon dioxide rate increases steadily until 1930 and then rapidly increases the rate of carbon dioxide from 300 ppm to 370 ppm in 70 years, meaning there is 1 more Carbon dioxide per year.

    1. Thank you for submitting your answer. Your answer is good because you included data and numbers in your answers but you could have improved your answer by going into more detail with the how the carbon dioxide levels RAPIDLY increased during the years from 1930-2000.

  5. Between 1870 to 1930, there has been a slow increase of carbon dioxide from 290 parts per million to 300 parts per million. After 1930 until 1970, the rate of increase in of concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has risen. From 1970 to 2000 there has been a sharp increase of concentration of CO2 from 330 ppm to 370ppm.

  6. • There is a general increase of carbon dioxide throughout 1870 to 2000
    • 1870 – 1930 there has been a slow and steady increase, only rising about 10ppm in 60 years.
    • 1930 – 1970 the increase has become more gradual, and has risen 15ppmin 40 years, almost twice the amount of ppm in 75% of the time
    • 1970 – 2000 there is a FAST and rapid INCREASE.

    1. Thank you for posting your answer. This was a good answer however you should try to avoid using bullet points in your answer as you will be penalised if you did this in the exam. Apart from the that you would get full marks. Well done.

  7. From 1870 to 1950 the rate of Co2 is slowly increasing and 1960 to 2000 it’s rapidly increasing. This is because of the industrial revolution.

    1. 1870 to 1950 rises up to 300-320ppm
      1960 to 2000 rapid increase 320-370ppm

  8. The rate of carbon dioxide increased at a steady rate from 1870-1930. The rate then started increasing more and more from 1930, reaching the fastest at 2000.

  9. From the 1870 to 1930s, the rate of increase of the carbon dioxide levels is increasing at a very slow rate, and has gone from around 290 ppm to 300 ppm. From 1930, the rate of increase has gone slightly steeper, and it grew from 300ppm to 330ppm in 1970. Then from 1970 it was a fast increase, from 330ppm to 370ppm in just 30 years.

  10. CO2 rate increases until 1930 then increases faster until 1970. the rate goes from 330 to 370ppm in 70 years. at 2000 it ends at 370 but still grows.
